I - INTRODUCTION:

The first robots that were useful to humans appeared with the emergence of assembly lines, where robots could perform repetitive, arduous and dangerous tasks for operators. In factories, these robots are usually positioned in dedicated areas where operators cannot go when they are in operation. This rule helps to ensure the safety of workers, but also makes the organisation of an assembly line rather inflexible.

Why ergonomics?

Musculoskeletal disorders are pathologies affecting muscles, tendons and nerves, accounting for 87% of occupational illnesses. 

 

The ErgoWIN solution :

With the aim of preventing and avoiding Musculoskeletal Disorders within companies, ABMI is developing an ergonomic offer dealing with the biomechanical aspect of these disorders.

Project - TrackCap


I - Context:

The TrackCap project is a system in development which enables smartphones to be used as 3D interaction devices for Augmented and Virtual Reality applications on mobile head mounted displays (HMD).
The system consists of a planar tracking target, which is attached to the HMD, tracking software which runs on the smartphone and estimates the 6DOF pose of the phone relative to the HMD, and a network interface that transmits the estimated pose of the phone to the HMD.
